Blame the landlord

We opened in 2019 as a twelve-seat sushi bar with no name on the door. The music was too loud from day one. Our first landlord called us “that loud fish place” in an email, and it stuck.

We tried being quiet

For about a month we turned the music down and lit some candles. It felt like a different restaurant, and not a better one. People kept asking what happened. So we turned it back up.

What loud means here

Records on the speaker, a counter that talks back and a room full of people having a good time. It doesn’t mean careless. The fish is handled as carefully as anywhere in the city.

If you want quiet

Come at five, before it fills up, or book the counter on a Tuesday. We can’t promise silence, but we can promise good fish.
